Dearry N. Smiley, Jr., known affectionately to all as "Smiley," left this world on October 18, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on June 29, 1973, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
A proud graduate of East Jefferson High School, Smiley's work ethic and jovial spirit quickly became evident in his career in the auto parts and services industry. His tenure at establishments such as Interstate Ford and Paretti Land Rover New Orleans was marked by his unwavering commitment and an ever-present smile that could brighten even the most challenging days.
Beyond his professional life, Smiley was deeply involved with his community, particularly as a cherished member of the Stepbrothers Neighborhood Bar and Grill family. His kindhearted nature led him to volunteer tirelessly after natural disasters, offering a helping hand to those in need-a testament to his generous spirit.
Smiley's heritage, a blend of Honduran and Scottish roots, infused his life with a rich cultural tapestry that he celebrated with pride and taught his daughters to cherish. His love for his family, especially his two daughters, Payton Elizabeth and Payge Elise, were his pride and joy.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his beloved daughters, his devoted mother, Lesbia Smiley, and his brother, Gerald Antonio Rovelo. Smiley's influence extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of many in New Orleans and Honduras, where his passion for his heritage and familial bonds shone brightly.

Metairie, La. 70001 on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm with a Service following.
