DEBORAH BARON Obituary

DEBORAH BARON 09/14/1941 - 05/11/2025 Deborah Marie Morton Baron passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, at her home in the Wind Crest Senior Community in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She was born on September 14, 1941, in York, Pennsylvania, to Marie and Charles Morton. In the 1950s, her family relocated to Massachusetts, where Deborah--known to many as Debbie--graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1959. She pursued a career in nursing and married Bruce Baron on August 4, 1962, in Chelmsford. A year later, Bruce was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force, and together they embraced the life of a military family, living in Ohio, California, Massachusetts, and Virginia. During this time, they welcomed three children: Ed, Susan, and Jim. Debbie worked as a registered nurse for several years, primarily in labor and delivery. Later, she transitioned into the technology field and held positions at Atlantic Research, Hewlett-Packard, Octel Communications, and Lucent Technologies while living in Silicon Valley. In 1998, she and Bruce retired to Grants Pass, Oregon, and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Following Bruce's passing in April 2020, Debbie relocated to Colorado to be closer to family. A woman of refined taste and creativity, Debbie had a deep appreciation for antiques--especially dolls, furniture, dishware, and lace--and her homes reflected her love for classic décor. In retirement, she ran a small antique booth in Oregon. She was also a talented gardener and enjoyed various crafts. Deborah is survived by her children: Ed (Sally), Susan (Doug), and Jim (Tina); nine grandchildren: Ron (Samantha), Dan (Rachel), Amy (Alex), Eric (Lindsay), Alyce, Mattie, Heide (Wesley), Niko, and Evan; and great-grandson Franklin. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

We had a beautiful family service for Nana yesterday in Phoenix with all of her three children and spouses, as well as several grand children and one great-grandson attending. The last rose was placed on her grave by her great-grandson, little Franklin. The desert has a beauty all its own, and per her wishes, Deb is now there with her husband Bruce. First photo is Jim, Ed and Sue on the right, and grandsons Dan, Ron and Eric Moore on the left. Second photo is the gravesite with great-grandson Franklin placing a rose.

I remember Debbie from Chelmsford HS. I think we were also members of Chelmsford Central Congregational Church. Even as a girl, Debbie was a sweet, refined person. My regrets to her family. May she rest in Peace.
