Deborah Deitner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grandstrand Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Lindstrom on Jan. 16, 2026.
Deborah "Debbie" Marie Deitner, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on December 31, 2025.
Debbie was born on March 19, 1960. She was the first born child of Robert "Bob" and Joanne (Slemmons) Cash of Stacy, MN. Shortly after, her siblings, John, Jim, Dawn and Diane would join the family. She attended the one room schoolhouse in Stacy and later graduated from North Branch Senior High School in 1978. After high school, she attended beauty school in St. Cloud and went on to become a master stylist at His and Her Hair in Wyoming, where she worked for many years.
Debbie married the love of her life, James Deitner on December 3, 1999. While she was proud to be Mrs. Deitner, Jim lovingly called her "Lucy", a name that reflected their special bond.
Debbie was an incredibly proud mother to her sons, Matthew and Andrew. Anyone who knew her well often heard her lovingly describe them as "perfect." She was an enthusiastic mom, known for cheering at wrestling matches and shouting encouragements to "kick their butt!"
After retiring from the hair industry, Debbie continued to serve others, reflecting her strong faith and servant's heart. She worked with several organizations, caring for elderly individuals in their homes and supporting adults with disabilities. She later retired from community work to care for her husband and, in later years, her father. Debbie truly had a caregiver's heart of gold.
Debbie held a deep passion for creative arts. She loved sewing and creating beautiful projects, often gifting her handmade items to those she loved. She enjoyed sharing sewing tips and creativity with her close friends, Carolyn and Debbie, along with her sister-in-law, Dawn. She also passed her love of crafts on to her grandchildren and great-nieces and nephews, frequently hosting tea parties, bracelet-making sessions, and tie-dye days.
Not only was Debbie proud to be a devoted wife and mother, but she was also immensely proud of being Aunt Debbie and Aunt Debbie the Great. She often bragged about being the first one to snuggle the newest baby in the family and of course whispering to them that they were "perfect" and often gifting them with a nickname.
In the last several years of her life, Debbie joyfully embraced her role as "Nanny Grandma," happily caring for her three grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, James Deitner; her parents, Robert and Joanne Cash; and her great-niece, Mackenzie Cash.
She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Jamie) Deitner and Andrew (Rebecca) Deitner; her grandchildren, Hunter, Piper, and Natalie Deitner; her siblings, John (Julie) Cash, Jim (Dawn) Cash, Dawn (Brian) Ash, and Diane (Ken) Lombard; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private family celebration is planned. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Rheumatology Research Foundation, MN Alzheimer's Association and/or The Baby Blanket & Beyond in Lindstrom, MN.

My friend you are missed. Shananigans like meeting at midnight to zip tie a 7 foot dinosaur to the fence in the park where just one of them. We had so many more to do together...ill see you on the other side and save a spot in the driveway for me. Say hello to Jim.
