Deborah Ann Grindstaff

Debora Ann "Deb" Grindstaff, age 69, of Erwin, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 24th, 2025 at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Ed and Elna Peterson Johnson.

Deb was a very outgoing person who loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, loved music, and her dog Rocky. She could be found mowing her yard every Tuesday and will always be remembered as the life of any gathering.

Surviving is her husband, Larry Grindstaff; daughter, Crystal Grindstaff (Todd Bennett) of Green Mountain; son, Shannon Grindstaff (Celeste) of Burnsville; special friend, Rick Connely of Johnson City, TN; sister, Linda Gray (Jack) of Poplar; brother, Eddie Johnson (Renee) of Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren: Mariah Norton, Zackary Norton, Morgan Grindstaff; nephew, Robbie Gray of Erwin, TN; niece, Cindy Cruz of Elizabethton, TN; and her fur buddy, Rocky. Several other extended family also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 29th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mack Daniel Peterson Cemetery in Huntdale. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requested that memorial donations be made to Yancey Funeral Services to help the family with expenses.
