Deborah L. Modesitt
December 5, 1959 – May 11, 2025
"Debbie" went to be with Mom and our Lord on Sunday May 11, 2025. She was born Dec. 5, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas to Lois (Lewis) and Albert Russell.
Debbie is survived by 2 sisters: Pat (Peter) Mastenbrook, Donna (Dave) Rue both of Lebanon, Oregon, 2 brothers Roy (Debbie) Russell of Harlan, Oregon, and Lewis Shane (Kimberlie) Russell of Lebanon, Or. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 6 years, James Modesitt 2015.
Debbie and her family moved to Oregon from Amarillo, Texas in 1971.
Debbie graduated from Philomath High in 1978.
She married Edward Fuston, 1979, He was in the Army, and they traveled many places. They had two children together and later divorced.
Debbie later attended LBCC and obtained a Legal degree. She went to work for Corl & Street Attorneys for 10 years. She then went to work for the Benton County District Attorney Office for 17 years until her health put her into early retirement.
Debbie spent 7 years doing volunteer work at Vets Helping Vets HQ.
Traveling with the Iraq/Afghanistan Memorial Wall of Honor over the state of Oregon and to Illinois in 2021.
Her health worsened and she had to stop her volunteer work.
A Celebration of Life will take place later. In lieu of flowers make contributions to Vets Helping Vets HQ, Albany, Or., or The Diabetes Association.
