William E. Modesitt

Bill was born in Lafayette, IN, to the late Jack Modesitt and Mary "Helen" Fulks (Iles). He married Judy Muller on April 12, 1969, and she survives. Bill graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1964. After proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, including service during the Vietnam War, he worked as a Process Technician at Eli Lilly, where he retired after 30 plus years.
Bill had a great appreciation of the outdoors. He cherished every moment spent fishing, bow hunting, practicing archery, and target shooting. He enjoyed sharing these passions with his children, sons-in-law, and grandchildren.
Bill was a dedicated Purdue football and basketball fan, and he took great pride in attending and watching any sporting event his grandchildren participated in.
Surviving with his wife, Judy, are two daughters: Christy Spencer (husband Gary; children Jacob and Lauren) of Battle Ground, and Nikki Gaylord (husband Shannon) of Battle Ground; and one son: Jason Modesitt (wife Jenny; children Harrison and Ashenafi) of West Lafayette. Also surviving are his sister, Betty Case (husband David) of Locust Grove, Virginia, and five great-grandchildren.
A private family service and burial will be held.
