Deborah "Debbie" K. Richards, age 72, of McArthur, Ohio, departed this life and began her new life in heaven on January 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Debbie was born to Marvin and Marvene (Marshall) Rowland on November 13, 1952, in Circleville, Ohio.
Debbie and Larry were married on August 19, 1974, settling in Vinton County where they raised their four mischievous boys. After obtaining an associate's degree in education she made a career working in the public school system of Vinton County. A member of Locust Grove Church she, alongside her special friend Christy Allen, impacted the lives of many young children by teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Debbie had a fondness for being outside in warm weather taking care of her flowers, expanding her gardens, or enjoying the coolness of their covered porch while birdwatching (specifically hummingbirds). She had a green thumb like no other. She also enjoyed caring for indoor plants, crocheting, putting puzzles together, and card games.
Debbie was strong, resilient, kind, and caring with a keen sense of humor that has forever shaped the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Richards; son, Mark Holland; and siblings, Tom, Rowland, Yvonne "Boone" Dillon, and Connie Archer.
