Deborah Ross Williamson

Deborah "Debbie" Ross Williamson, 72, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away peacefully at home, on Monday, August 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on October 16, 1952, in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late DeVaughn Ross and Betty Alligood Ross and was the wife of Ralph C. Williamson. Debbie retired from the Pasquotank County Health Department, where she worked as a benefit coordinator for many years. She loved the simple joys in life – trips to Myrtle Beach, shopping the many outlets, watching Hallmark movies, and spending time with her family. Her garden was her happy place, where she found both peace and purpose. Debbie is most remembered by her family and friends for her easy-going, calm, humble, giving nature. As the oldest of three sisters, she spent many beach trips and holidays with them, making their bond as sisters priceless. A few fun facts/precious memories the sisters recall include her excitement of seeing the Krispy Kreme hot sign on and enjoying a doughnut and coffee together. They recall many beach trips floating in that lazy river with her like she used to love to do!

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ralph; her daughters, Becky W. Greico and Carol L. Williamson (Shawn) of Elizabeth City, NC; her son, Randall Chadburn Williamson of Elizabeth City, NC; and her sisters, Susan R. Hudson (Gary) of Hickory, NC and Patti R. Mehaffey (Russell) of Raleigh, NC. Debbie also leaves behind four grandchildren, Gavin Greico (Shealah), Mason Rawls (Heaven), Madisyn Rawls (Daryl), and Deacon Rawls; and two great-grandchildren, Silas Greico and Yuriah Rawls. Also surviving are three nieces, Krystal Jones, Kasey Mills (Tucker), and Shannon Mehaffey.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Rick Lowery. The family will greet friends at a visitation being held from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the funeral home and also immediately following the service on Saturday in the funeral home lobby.
