Debra Lynn Herdman, age 69, of Wilmington, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Bethesda North Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 25, 1956, in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Glen Russell Herdman and Mary Ruth (Newman) Herdman.
Debra was a proud 1974 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School. She dedicated much of her career to public service, working as a dispatcher for the Clinton County Sheriff's Department and later retiring from the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Wilmington, where she was a trusted dispatcher and a valued colleague for many years.
Debra had a big heart and an even bigger love for her family. She cherished long conversations on the phone and visits with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. Her warm smile, quick wit, and genuine care for others made her a beloved sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her two siblings, Dennis Herdman of Lynchburg and Vickie (Warren) Huffman of Hillsboro; nieces and nephews, Rebekah Herdman, Josh Geeslin, Matthew (Kayla) Geeslin, and Brandi Geeslin; great nieces and nephews, Braylee, Kendall, Branson, Jaxson, and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday July 31, 2025, at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
