Debra Lynn Herps- Tipton

Debra Lynn Herps-Tipton,66, of Troy, MO, passed away on February 6, 2024 at Barnes- St. Peters Hospital. She was born on February 11, 1957 in Troy, MO to George Edward and Nina Jane (Brown) Herps. Debra attended the local schools and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1975, where she was involved in many activities. She went on to work at a pharmacy and was encouraged to go to nursing school by Dr. Rutledge. Debra gained her Associates Degree from Florissant Valley Community College and later BSN from Missouri Baptist University. While at MBU, she was the editor of the yearbook. She had many jobs as an RN; hospital, skilled nursing facility and home health, as long as her health permitted.
Her faith in God was important to her and she was a devoted Christian. Debra was united in marriage with Douglas Blake Tipton on July 25, 1992 at First Christian Church in Troy, MO. Debra earned an Associates degree in real estate along with her husband Douglas from St. Louis Community College at Meremac in 2001. They thought it would increase their knowledge as landlords in the City of St. Louis. She and Douglas were blessed with 32 years of marriage together, during this time Douglas was her devoted caretaker for many years. Debra enjoyed bowling, roller skating, archery, croquet, skeeball and penny arcades. Some activities they enjoyed doing together were eating at the Golden Corral and watching movies. She will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Douglas Tipton of Troy, MO, her daughter, Tonya Ann Falzone of Licking, MO, 2 grandchildren, Faith Patricia May Walraven and Jerry Wayne Walraven, many cousins, other relatives and friends.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nina Herps.
A Graveside service to be held next week on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Old Alexandria Cemetery Troy, MO
