Debra Marie Lewis age 64, of Brookline, MA passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2025.
Debbie was born on May 22, 1960 in Brookline, Massachusetts to James and Betty Mellett. She married Oliver Lewis on May 4, 1986 and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Sarah Lewis and Jaime Frishman
Before retiring to Florida four years ago (to pursue her full-time calling as a casino enthusiast), Debbie worked at Broderick Gymnastics, where she was loved by the entire staff and many young gymnasts and families throughout her years there. Always greeting them with a smile and kind words.
A lover of slot machines and anything labeled "jackpot," Debbie found joy in her frequent trips to the casino. Her sidekick "Lucky Kitty" was always close by - even if neither of them was particularly lucky.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband Oliver; her daughters and best friends Sarah and Jaime; devoted Nana to Jack Frishman; best sister to Jeannie Stanley and Mary Fahy; her "favorite brother" Jimmy Mellett; and loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Mellett and her beloved parents, James and Betty Mellett.
Visiting hours will be held on May 31, 2025 at Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home (376 Washington Street, Brookline, MA 02445) from 1:00-4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Dana Farber- or better yet, take a trip to a casino, play a round of slots, and think of Debbie when you hit "spin."
Debbie will be forever in our hearts, but we are comforted knowing she is now with her sister Liz and parents.
