Mrs. Debra Lynn Kemp Mays, age 67, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at her home in Dry Prong surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation for Mrs. Mays will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Gallagher Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, with Pastor David Kimsey officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pineville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Kemp and Sarah Ridens Kemp; sisters; and granddaughter, Heather Shaw.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of almost 50 years, Sgt. Ted Mays; children, Kelly Mays (Kimberly) of Houston, Katera Trahan (Jeremy) of Welsh, Stacey LeBlanc of Pineville, Crystal Mays of Pollock, and Patrick Mays (Sommer) of Pollock; brother, Randy Kemp of Houston; grandchildren, Kristian Cole, Jordon Cole, Thomas Mays, Hunter Mays, Madalynn Shaw, Aiden LeBlanc, Ian LeBlanc, and Hazlie Trahan; great grandchildren, Krayson, Dayton, and Hadlie; cousin and best friend, Regina Cobb.
Mrs. Debra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed going to the movie theatre, listening to music, and reading books; especially by James Parker. She was not a fan of cruises until her first, and then she could hardly be kept from going on more. Her family was her heart, and she deeply loved each and every one in her life. She will forever be missed by those that loved and knew her. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Debra Kemp, please visit our floral store.
