ENFIELD, CT Debra Ann (Margara) Rugani, 69, died unexpectedly on August 22, 2025. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Irene A. (Guzik) Margara.
After graduating Springfield's Technical High School in 1973, Debbie started her career with the U.S. Postal Service in 1975 as a Postal Service Mail Sorter; 35 years and many dear friends later, she retired at 55 as a Supervisor of Drop Shipment.
She loved going to Las Vegas with her sister Denise, her guilty pleasures were the slot machines. She enjoyed reading, being a lunch monitor and most of all taking care of her great-nephew Mikey. Debra was the tree with all of the intertwined branches that brought family and friends together.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Paul H. Rugani in 2017.
She will be missed dearly by her sisters Diane Panaccione and Denise Orlik & husband Greg, sisters-in-law Kathleen Rugani, Carol Bucyk, Diane Foster & husband Gary, and Maria Patenaude & husband Michael, brother-in-law Bruce Rugani & wife Diana, Godchildren Curtis Orlik & fiancée Merissia Phipps, Anthony Panaccione and Kristyn Bucyk, niece Angela Panaccione, great-nephew Mikey Panaccione, great-niece Leia Mathieu, and many more nieces and nephews.
Debra's wake is Thursday, August 28th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield.
On Friday, all are welcome once again to Tazzini Funeral Home at 9 a.m. proceeding to Debra's 10 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church; burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.Heart.org/donate.
