Dedra Day Obituary
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Jones and Rev. Lloyd Day officiating. Burial will follow the Day Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024; two hours prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Day was born in Manassas, Virginia on June 19, 1963 to the late James Junior Jack Cummings and Virginia Aleese Necessary Cummings. DeDe enjoyed making crafts and she sold many of them. She was a wonderful baker such as pie and pumpkin rolls. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded by a son, Alex Graham; a grandson, Timothy Peterson; two sisters, Kathy Pratt and Melissa Stike.
Mrs. Day is survived by: her husband, Jeff Day; a daughter, Hedi Peterson (James); two step sons, Brandon Day (Jodi), of Wilkesboro and Shawn Day, of Jefferson; three brothers, Rex Cummings, Jeff Cummings and Johnny Cummings, of West Jefferson; twenty-one grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Flowers will be appreciated.
The family is meeting at the home place at 1485 Claybank Road in West Jefferson.
