Delano Owen Crew, age 90, of Indianapolis passed away Feb. 5, 2025. Born in Tulsa, OK but grew up in St. Mathews and Lynden, NY. He attended 4 different high schools and spent 2 years at the University of Richmond in Virginia. "Snookie", as he was known to his friends and family, moved to Indianapolis in 1959 and enrolled at IUPUI. He spent 30 years in the TV Sales and Service business before moving on to the Naval Air Warfare center where he spent 20 years as an Electronics Engineer, retiring in 2001.
Snookie was a past member of the Indianapolis Junior Chamber of Commerce; past member of the South Side Sertoma Club; past President of the Indianapolis Television Technicians Association; past President of the Murat Camera Club and past Shrine Potentate's Aid. He was a present 67 year member of Beech Grove Masonic Lodge, and a present 56 year member of the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.
Snookie lost his wife of 52 years in 2013. He lost his daughter and two grandchildren too early in their life and his brother, Donald as well. He is survived by his brother, Danny; several nieces and nephews and 3 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be Friday, March 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm with visitation from 12:00 pm until service time at Indiana Funeral Care in Greenwood. All who knew him are welcome. His last P.S. was "Don't drink up all the booze." Burial will occur at a later date at Round Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis.
