Delbert Chafins

Delbert Chafins, age 75 went to be with the Lord Thursday November 13, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family, Big Rock, VA. He was born March 28, 1950, in Grundy, VA and was the son of the late John and Emogene Burnett Chafins.
Delbert was of the Pentecostal faith, member of Big Rock Pentecostal Church and was a retired truck driver from Southeast Trucking. He loved going to church and spending time with his family. Delbert was a loving brother, uncle, and friend.
In addition to his parents John and Emogen Chafins, he was preceded in death by three brothers Luther, Paul Glen, and Gary Wayne Chafins and one sister Mary Elizabeth Leonard.
Those left to cherish his memories include brothers Thurlin Chafins and wife Lea Ann of Big Rock, VA and Larry Chafins and wife Mary Ann of Patterson, VA.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Gregory (Penny) Deel, Cynthia Hickman, Bille Joe (Shawn) Mullins, Brandice (Darren) Oquinn, Leslie Lee (Tim) Martin, Jamie Tidd, Jermey Neil Chafins, and Becky (Kevin) Holcomb, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Delbert Chafins will be held at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel Grundy, VA, Sunday, November 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Evangelists Ronnie Chafins and Gary Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Pallbearers will be Danny Whitt, Brian Johnson, Richard Wolford, Mike Stiltner, Clayton Stiltner and Greg Deel.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel beginning on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. until the service hour of 7:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers Richard Wolford and Ronnie Chafins for the kindness and care shown to Delbert in his time of need.
