Mollie Blankenship Lester

Mollie Blankenship Lester 85, of Jolo, WV passed peacefully at home Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on June 18, 1939, in Wolford, VA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Jennie Rowe Blankenship.
Mollie was of the Christian faith and a member of Jesus Church of Bartley. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers and watching old T.V. shows. Mollie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Walter and Jennie Blankenship, she is preceded in death by her first husband William Wood, second husband Ralph Lester, daughter Doris Steele, six sisters, and three brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Dianna Cooper and husband Terry of Jewell Ridge, VA, Bonnie Wood of Jolo, WV, Wanda Meade of Oakwood, VA; son Donald Wood and wife Yvonne of Jolo, WV.
She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mollie will be conducted at the Jesus Church of Bartley, Bartley, WV Tuesday, October 28, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Jenks and Chester Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Cemetery, Wolford, VA.
Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Jesus Church of Bartley after 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, with evening with services to begin at 7:00 p.m.
