Loraine Lewis

Loraine Lewis, age 87, of Grundy, Virginia, entered into eternal rest and went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1938, in Grundy, Virginia.
Mrs. Lewis was a devoted Christian woman whose life reflected a deep and abiding faith in God. She was a faithful member of Harman Holiness Church, and she also enjoyed fellowshipping with her brothers and sisters at the Stacy Church of God. She enjoyed many years of worship and fellowship. Her steadfast devotion and gentle spirit served as an inspiration to all who knew her. When asked how she was doing, she replied, "Holding on to Jesus as tight as I can," a simple yet powerful reflection of her enduring trust in the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Max Lewis; parents Reed Spencer Deel and Ethel Marie Deel McNutt; two brothers, Billy Lee Deel and Jimmy Allen Deel; and her sister, Joyce Hurley Davis.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Sherry Deel; brother-in-law, Roger Davis; two stepchildren, Mike and wife Sheron Lewis, and Melinda Lewis; three step grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Funeral services will be conducted at Harman Holiness Church, Harman, VA, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Danny Hess, Rev. Josh Bowman, Pastor Shawn Kidd and Rev. Kyle Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Pallbearers will be Chris Blankenship, Ted Hurley, Todd Hurley, Mark Hurley, Ray Blankenship, Mike Lewis, Billy Stiltner and David Ashby.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday after 6:00 p.m. with an evening service at 7:00 p.m.
Mrs. Lewis will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kind heart, and the quiet strength that came from her walk with the Lord. Her life was a testament to the power of faith, and her memory will continue to bless all who were fortunate enough to know her.
