Denis Dale Dunagan, 79, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025.
Born in Lubbock, Texas, on November 22, 1945, Denis was the son of Winston L. and Espie Rae Dunagan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Dunagan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Kay Dunagan; loving daughters, Melissa Dunagan and Michelle Hoffman (John); cherished granddaughter, Loryn Hoffman; and his sister, Claudie Bruton.
Denis was a proud veteran of the United States Armed Forces and later enjoyed a successful career as a sales representative with John Tarter & Company. A graduate of Northside High School in Fort Worth, Texas, Denis often reminisced about his summer jobs at Vance Godbey’s and the lifelong friendships he built there.
A passionate golfer, reader, and JFK historian, Denis also took great pride in his membership at University Christian Church and his unwavering support for TCU. He especially loved weekend golf trips to Salado, Texas, with friends from Ridglea Country Club. His sharp wit, curiosity, and love for history and classic rock from the 50’s and 60’s were matched only by his deep affection for his family—and for the dogs he and his wife had over the years, including his favorite, Nine Iron.
An outgoing person who met people everywhere he went, Denis will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and shared stories that brought laughter and connection to every room he entered.
