Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes & Cremation Services - Short North ChapelLionel “Bruce” Carroll was born June 20th, 1936 to Lionel and Marie (Messer) Carroll in Buena Vista, Ohio. At a young age his family moved to Millersport, Ohio where he spent the rest of his childhood. He graduated from Millersport High School in 1953. He had many different occupations throughout his life. The 2 main ones were construction and he was a Barber for many years in Thornville, Ohio.
In 1958 he was baptized at Yankee Stadium in New York as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served as an Elder in the Millersport Congregation for many years. One of his greatest joys was studying the Bible, and then sharing what he learned with others. He shared his knowledge through many Bible discourses and in the door to door ministry work.
On September 23rd, 1988 he married Lucille (Cline) Carroll. Together they built a life together full of love and laughter. They worked together to create their house into their dream home and property. Bruce was a very hard worker. He had the unique ability of being able to teach himself how to do almost anything. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would read and study about it, and figure out how to do it. He loved Country Music and was a talented guitar player. He looked forward to his hope of living forever in a paradise Earth. Bruce and Lucy always said that in that paradise Earth they were going to walk all over the world together.
Bruce fell asleep in death on October 9th, 2025. He was proceeded in death by his parents Lionel and Marie Carroll; sisters Claudette, Linda, Judy, and Iris; and his daughter Viva.
