Dennis D. Allen age 69, of Gowen, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at home. He was born December 19, 1954 in Mecosta, the son of Floyd & Myrtle (Russ) Allen. He retired from Electrolux as a truck driver, hauled pulp wood with his dad in his younger days, enjoyed driving big trucks, puttering on his tractor and spending time with his grandsons. He loved to tell stories and would often tell them to you more than once, word for word, thus proving that it was in fact true. Dennis is survived by his wife Penny of 49 years; daughter Amanda (Jeff) LaVoy of Ithaca; grandsons Joshua (Sydney) Baumann and Isidore (Katie) Baumann and also survived by Dennis and Penny’s extended families. He was preceded in death by his parents, inlaws and his son Joshua Allen. There will be a Celebration of His Life 2 to 5 PM September 15, 2024 at the Trufant DBS Hall/Community Center. Memorial contributions in Dennis's name can be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with complete obituary online at www.marshallfuneralhomeinc.com where you can leave a message of condolence for the family.
