Dennis N. Dickensheets, age 71 of Reynoldsburg passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 4th, 1952, in Troy, Ohio to the late Thomas E. and Barbara B. (Kessler) Dickensheets.
Denny is survived by his two daughters, Jill (Michael) Young of Westerville and Tara (Brent) Ferne of Pickerington. One Sister, Tomala Shaeffer of Troy. One Brother, Tim (Linda) Dickensheets of Colombia, SC. His former wife Jacquie (Michael) Spiert. He is preceded in death by his brother William Dickensheets (Billy D).
He is also survived by his greatest joys, his four grandchildren, Ava, Ella, Addy & Sophia and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Denny was a 1970 graduate of Troy High School. He graduated from Capital University in 1975, where he played baseball and basketball and made friendships to last a lifetime.
Denny loved spending time watching his kids early in life and recently his grandkids play sports. Whether it be a soccer game, volleyball game or basketball game- he was there supporting and cheering on his grandkids.
If he wasn't at a sporting event, he could be found on the golf course. He loved watching golf and playing golf. He spent many of his days playing golf with many friends and his brothers. He loved the Buckeyes and Bengals. He was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna where he spent his early years playing church softball with the best group of men.
Denny had a successful career in Life Insurance where his work took him many places and brought many lifetime friendships. He will be remembered as the best dad, the most dedicated Papaw, brother and friend.
