Dennis Hecker

Dennis Hecker, age 84, of Millcreek, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his residence. Born in Crossingville, PA, he was a son of the late Theodore and Helen (Swaney) Hecker.
Dennis worked as a tool & die maker and foreman for Anson Manufacturing which later became Reddog Industries retiring in 2006. He was a longtime parishioner at St. George Church where he served as a eucharistic minister. Dennis was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and biking. He was a "jack of all trades" who fixed everything at home and was a talented woodworker who made bedroom furniture, bookcases, play furniture and many other items. Above all else, Dennis greatly enjoyed his grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bernadine Pietrowski and her husband Donald.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Eileen (Skladanowski) Hecker; a son, Michael Hecker, wife Tracy; a daughter, Lori Howland, husband Jeffrey; four grandchildren, Brandon Hecker, fiancé Monica Palmieri, Noah Hecker, Andrew Howland, and Brianna Howland; three siblings, Thomas Hecker, wife Pat, Jane Mallory, husband Tom, and Sara Wright; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. Services will be held there on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. George Church at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
