Dennis Keith Hilgert

Dennis Keith Hilgert, 76, of Centertown, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1947 in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Buford "Cub" and Elsie (Rice) Hilgert, who preceded him in death. He would meet and marry the love of his life, Shirley Camden. They would remain married for over fifty years.
Dennis was a 1965 graduate from Jefferson City High School. He was a member of the United States Army and was in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. Most of all he enjoyed the time he spent making memories with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Hilgert; sons, Rick Hilgert (April), Joe Hilgert; brothers-in-law, Ben Camden, Steve Camden (Delane); sisters-in-law, Julie Keating, Liz Francis (Jim), Mary Philbert (James); grandchildren, Sierra Hilgert, Graysen Hilgert; as well as, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Koenig, Hellen Mcmellan; brothers-in-law, Wilson Camden, Arnold Camden; mother-in-law, Angela Camden; father-in-law, Wilson Camden.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that acts of sympathy be made to the Central Missouri Marine Corp League of Jefferson City.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
