Dennis Ledden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Funeral & Cremation - Mann on May 13, 2024.
Dennis Robert Ledden was born in Randolph County, Georgia, on June 27, 1933. After knowing Jesus Christ as his Savior for many years, Dennis met Him face-to-face on the morning of May 9, 2024.
He joins Betty Ann, his beloved wife of 57 years, and is survived by his children Kevin (Teresa) and Denise (Meredith), and his two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Andrew. He is also survived by his brothers, Ralph (Christine), Royce (Elaine), Ronald, and sisters Reba, Rebecca, Ruby, sister-in-law Inez Ledden, brother-in-law Edward Walker (Edith), as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by parents, Dennis Hansel and Alice Hortense, nee Price; brother Rufus, sister-in-law Linda, brothers-in-law Lee Milliron, Everett Steadman, and D.M. Lassiter.
As part of the GI Bill, Dennis served in the Army and then graduated from the University of Georgia. His career with BF Goodrich brought him to Morristown, Tenn., where he met Betty Ann in October 1961. After their June 1962 marriage, they moved to Rome, Ga., before settling in Knoxville in 1968 where they remained for the rest of their lives. Dennis was a longtime member of Central Baptist Bearden where he ushered every Sunday for many years and was named Deacon for Life. Daddy loved to plant and sow his garden, piddle in his barn endlessly or as long as Mother would let him, and reengineer everything he bought because nothing was built to his liking. And fish. Oh, how he loved to fish.
The family would like to thank the nurses and care givers at Avenir, now Concord Place Memory Care, specifically Shannon, Dowanquailia "Quail", Danasjia "Na", Jeannie, and Katie; and Gentiva hospice nurse Dani, who will always have an asterisk by her name for us!
Funeral services are being handled by Rose Mann on Kingston Pike. The graveside service is Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. ET at Bethel Baptist Church cemetery in Townsend. Friends may call at convenience at Rose Funeral and Cremation-Mann, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. On-line condolences may be extended at www.rosefuneraltn.com
