Shortly after graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. He received the Purple Heart Award. He was very proud of being a Marine. His time in Vietnam shaped the course of his life through the end.

He married Theresa on September 28, 1968. After being married, they lived in Roxborough for over 40 years. He was an active member of St. Josaphat's parish. He was part of "The Dirty Dozen", who donated their time to renovate the school. He made treasured, lifelong friends there. He also donated his time at the 21st Ward Little League. He was a Union Plumber by trade and worked out of the Local 690 in Philadelphia. His skill set did not end at plumbing though. He was a man of many skills. He was constantly doing projects and fixing things around his house as well as helping his family and friends.

He retired to Egg Harbor Township, NJ about 15 years ago. After his wife, Theresa, passed 5 years ago, he moved to a 55+ Community in Mays Landing, NJ. He was well liked in the Community and made very good friends there.
