Dennis Rush, of Clever, MO, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on February 14, 2025. He was 84 years old. Dennis was born on March 06, 1940, in Truman, Arkansas, to Green and Theda (Keith) Rush.
Dennis graduated from Billings High School with the class of 1958. On September 03, 1960, he married Joyce Humble in the Billings Methodist church. Soon after their marriage, he enlisted in the US Navy and honorably served his country for two years of active duty on the USS Oakhill. He was an Atomic Veteran, participating in nuclear testing on Johnson Island. He retired after 22 years in the Navy Reserves. He graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Business Administration. He and Joyce were blessed with four children. Andrea was born while Dennis' ship duty was extended because of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Then came Aron, Derik, and Dane. Dennis had a passion for physical fitness, which began in high school, when he and Jerry Wampler started working out in Jerry's basement. He pursued body building and the Billings Barbell Club participated in weightlifting competitions. He worked in several Fitness Centers as a trainer. He also worked as a parts counter associate and manager at Stinger Sams and then at O'Reilly's Auto Parts, where he made many friends before retiring. He enjoyed reading, watching Fox News, News Max, and Turner Classics with his favorite cat, Spooky, on his lap. He and Joyce kept busy going to Cox Fitness Center, and attending Clever First Assembly of God. Dennis liked attending the Men's Bible Study, led by Rev. Junior Swadley, at the Clever Christian Church and hanging out with his dear friend, Harry LaSalvia. Dennis was saved at the age of 12, when some CBI students ministered in a storefront in Billings.
He is preceded in death by his mother, his stepfather, Gerald Inman, sister Sandy Inman and nephew Craig Inman.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce, children Andrea Rush and husband Ed Slagle, Aron Rush and wife Sheryl, Derik Rush and Dane Rush, grandchildren Jerah, Rachel, Hannah and Symon, brothers Jerry Inman and Thomas Inman, as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family and countless friends.
As per Dennis's wishes, he will be cremated and laid to rest privately, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, which will be added to this obituary when a date is determined.

Dennis was a good person. We both played "first clarinet" in the Billings High School Band and we graduated together. From the time I remember, he and Joyce were a couple. They made it to the "finish line." RIP Dennis. Will miss seeing you at our class reunions.
