Derek is predeceased by his brother David McClung Jr., cousin Melody Greenwell, his grandparents, two uncles.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother Deana McClung, his father David McClung, his nephew Brayden David Hawk Hammond, many relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel on Friday September 6, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday September 7, 2024 in the funeral home chapel. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com

One of my favorite memories with Derek is when we saw FLAG (Black Flag) together in 2016 at Shakas. They played The First Four Years which is both of our favorite compilations from Black Flag. The show was awesome and Derek enjoyed it. We talked about how great that show was for years. He knew so much about music and was so talented. We grew together, and he taught me so much
