The Dickey and Smith family are sad to announce the passing of Derrick Raymond Dickey. He passed away at the age of 28 years old on March 27, 2024. Derrick resided in Lowell, Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife Melanie; three children, Cateleya, Jysaiah, and Jeremiah; his mother Tracy; his brother Scotty, and his sister Tamra. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews aunts, uncles and cousins.
As many people knew, Derrick struggled with addiction, however that didn't stop him from pursuing a wonderful life. Derrick graduated and attained his GED. He loved to go fishing, it was a hobby he shared with his late father, late uncles and brother. Derrick was beginning computer classes to begin a new career field. He was motivated and very determined to make new changes in his life. The simplest pleasures in his life brought great joy to Derrick. He loved being around his family and found the greatest joy when he was with his children. Derrick's pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met.
Family and friends are invited to Derrick's visiting hours at THE FAY McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 105 MOORE STREET IN LOWELL on MONDAY MORNING, APRIL 8, 2024, from 9 AM until 11:30 PM. Funeral Prayers will follow. Burial in the Edson Cemetery at 12 Noon.
