Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Tonnie Finley Moorman; son, Justin Young; sisters, Toni Plummer, Nancina Boston, Sharon Sams (David), Minister Janice Williams (Bryant); brothers, Walter Moorman, Jr., Cedeno Lindsey, Kenny Lindsey; stepmother, Joyce Burgin; aunts, Hazel Finley, Margie Evans, Ernestine Taylor; great-aunt, Ruby Sloan; other family members and friends.
Public viewing will be from 5:00-6:00pm Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service. Memorial service will be 1:00pm Saturday, October 19, 2024 also in the chapel.

My first memory of Derek is playing against him and youth league football and we just kind of hit it off as friends even though we were on the opposite teams I lived in one town and he lived in another town then when I moved to this town we would hook up every once in awhile he was a good person it was very smart when it came to music it was a good hearted person and he will be missed
