Devin Jamar Johnson, age 22, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Devin was born on September 6, 2002, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Albert Johnson Jr. and the late Allison R. Blevins (Johnson). A proud graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 2020, Devin went on to pursue his passion for service by joining the United States Marine Corps Academy, where he graduated in April 2022.
He was a beloved member of the Latter Rain Church of God in Christ in Mansfield, Ohio, where his grandparents served as Pastors. Devin was known for his love of sports and was actively involved with Tyger athletics, including basketball and football. He also cherished time spent playing video games with friends and creating lasting memories with his beloved nephews and niece. Devin especially looked forward to enjoying his grandmother’s home-cooked meals, which were a special comfort to him. Devin was employed with the Honda Marysville Auto Plant.
To his peers, he was affectionately known as “Devin Debo Johnson.” He was widely recognized as a gentle giant whose smile could light up any room. Devin had a magnetic personality and a generous spirit—qualities that endeared him to everyone he met.
Devin is survived by his father, Albert Johnson Jr., and stepmother, Rebecca Johnson; his siblings, Dajah Johnson and Aydan Johnson, both of Columbus, Ohio; Terrance Flickinger of Marion, Ohio; and Paris Grose of Mansfield, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandparents, Superintendent Louis and Supervisor Sharon Blevins of Mansfield, paternal grandmother Ruth Williams, also of Mansfield, and Alberta Johnson of Canton.
He leaves behind a host of aunts and uncles, including April Petty of Tennessee, Angel Ali and Kizzy Williams of Mansfield, Dr. L. Michael (Jackie) Blevins of Wisconsin, and Phillip Blevins of Mansfield. Devin also leaves behind many cousins, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
A special mention goes to his godparents, Deacon Byron and Missionary Clora Jackson, who held a meaningful place in his life.
Devin was preceded in death by his mother, Allison Blevins-Johnson.
Devin’s life, though brief, was filled with purpose, joy, and the love of those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
