On Tuesday, October 28th, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer, Diana Lynn
Verde, age 66 of Los Osos, CA passed away peacefully with her husband, brother and
chaplain by her side. Diana fought hard until the very end. After a prayer from the
chaplain and loving goodbyes from her husband and brother, the hand of God was
extended, and Diana accepted it. We know not what the afterlife offers, but her soul
has moved on, and she will be making her new world a better place as she did here on
earth.
Diana was born on July 4th, 1959, the daughter of Dr. Horatio and Sylvia Verde in
Chicago, IL. Diana graduated from Andrean High School in Merrillville, IN in 1977. She
graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Biology and Psychology in 1981. She
went on to medical school and graduated from Far Eastern University in the
Philippines in 1985. For her post graduate residency training, she spent one year at St.
Mary's Health Services in Grand Rapids, MI and four years at the University of Michigan
in Ann Arbor and graduated as an Adult and Child Psychiatrist in 1993.
Diana moved to Ripon, WI and married Brian Davis on August 7th, 1993. Diana spent
14 years working locally in Ripon, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac treating adults and
children in the area. Diana has always loved traveling and began doing locum tenens
work, where she worked around the country as a traveling psychiatrist. She had several
assignments in Wisconsin, Arizona, Montana, New Mexico and spent most of her time
in California, which eventually became home. Diana had an absolute passion for
working with and treating patients with difficult to treat mental disorders. She made a
big difference in the lives of many, as their conditions improved, and they saw light
where there once was only darkness.
Diana had many interests and loves in her life. She loved playing tennis, traveling the
world, and designing and making everything from purses to pet carriers. She had a gift
for anything artistic, and her musical talents were equally remarkable; she loved to sing
and play the piano and clarinet. Most recently she learned to play Mahjong with special
friends and family. And of course, Diana especially loved her dogs, with her little girl
Chikita being the most special. But most of all, Diana simply loved life and laughing
with her husband, friends and family. She had a larger than life personality and will be
greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. But most importantly, Diana had a soft,
gentle heart.
Diana is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Brian Davis of Los Osos, CA; her
brother Glenn Verde (Carla) of Crown Point, IN; sister Cate Indermuehle (Steve),
Grafton, WI; brother Marc Verde (Lynn) Simpsonville, SC; sister, Valerie Verde (Thom
Jordan), Los Osos, CA; and sister Marilyn Devine (Patrick), Schererville, IN.
Diana was preceded in death by her father Dr. Horatio Verde and mother Sylvia Verde.
Memorials for Diana may be directed to the animal shelter of your choosing. A
celebration of life will be held at a future day.
