Diane Brownell Brown Andrews died at home surrounded by her family Nov. 10, 2025 after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 17, 2025 at 10am from Young's Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday. Visitation will be from 9am until time of service. Rev. Mary Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Diane was the eldest of twelve children. She was born in Winnsboro to Clifton Leon Brownell Sr. and Minnie Lee Jordan. She was a devout Christian and very involved in church services and activities. An accomplished seamstress in her early life, in later years, Diane became a nurse and worked at several area nursing homes including Glenburney Nursing Home, Trace Haven Health & Rehab for Tabitha Wroten, and Claiborne County Nursing Center for Jay Massey. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Barbara Ann Tucker and Mavis Pauline Brownell; brothers Clifton Leon Brownell Jr, Jerry Wayne Brownell, and Allen Wade Brownell; brother-in-law Rolle Tucker; sister-in-law Dorothy Brownell; and beloved grandson Weston C. Brown.
Diane is survived by her immediate family: husband John Andrews, daughter Alexis Diane Brown, son-in-law Colten Leggett, grandson Virgil Aiden Andrew Leggett. Other survivors include sons Wesley Brown (Rhonda), Curtis Brown (Renee), and Jonathan Brown (Amanda); daughter-in-law Jamie King Brown; sisters Rev. Mary Jackson (Bill), Delores Holland (Wayne), Sheila Christiansen, Sylvia Cowart, and Kathy Baxter; brother Alfred Charles "A.C." Brownell; uncles George Brownell and Ollie "Buddy" Jordan; Aunt Rosa Lee Lee; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Colten Leggett, Bill Jackson, Wayne Holland, Jason Holland, Randy Seals, and Leslie Vincent.
Honorary pallbearer will be A.C. Brownell.
