Diane I. Ruether, age 76, of Rothschild, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. Diane was born on September 22, 1948, in Dancy, WI, to the late Ewald and Viola (Kummer) Miller Sr. She was raised on her family farm in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School in 1966.
Following high school, Diane began her career at Wausau Insurance in the Policy writing Department and the Credit Department and then transferred to the Connexus Credit Union where she worked diligently until her retirement. She married Thomas Ruether in 1969, and together they started a family that became the center of her world.
Diane enjoyed spending time in her garden, cheering on the Packers and Brewers when she could, and always had room in her home for a pet. She also loved to travel with friends and family, particularly bus trips to Gurnee IL, Memphis, TN to visit Graceland, and Moon Saloon casino trips. She was a known fan of browsing garage sales for hidden treasures.
Above all, Diane had a deep passion for Elvis Presley. Her home was filled with Elvis memorabilia, and she found great joy in attending Elvis impersonator performances. Whether it was the music or the man himself, Elvis was a cherished part of Diane's life.
Diane's warmth and giving heart will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons Todd and Randy Ruether; grandchildren Kyle and Melanie Ruether; great grandchildren Maddie and Elea Ruether; siblings Wandnetta (Donald) Karl, Ewald (Lu Anne) Miller Jr., Kevin (Lois) Miller, Scott (Marie) Miller and Steven (Esther) Miller and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Sharon Beaumont and brother Dean Miller.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Visitation will take place from 10:00 Am until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
