Mrs. Diane J. Solimeo, age 75 of Earleville, Maryland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Diane was a native of Wyckoff, New Jersey, the daughter of Helen and Charles H. Jurgensen. From a young age, Diane had a love for art and fashion. She was an alumna of Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts having graduated with a degree in commercial art. She had a particular appreciation of French Impressionist artwork. Diane's enthusiasm for fashion led to her early career in the New York fashion industry as a regional sales representative for the esteemed brand Christian Dior.
Diane also was an avid traveler through her life. Her travels took her all over the globe, from frequent trips to the Finger Lakes of New York, to the trips that saw her travel to far off places like Beijing, China. Diane lived for many years in Germany, where both of her sons, Kai and Colin, were born. The picturesque alpine landscapes of Switzerland were some of her most cherished travel memories.
Everyone that knew Diane was touched by her ever-present smile and optimism. Diane's smile was present even into her final days, providing comfort to those who had come to provide comfort to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Charles.
Diane is survived by and will be missed by her loving husband, Thomas J. Solimeo; her children from a prior marriage, Kai Radicke (Sarah Spiegelhoff), Colin Radicke (Jessica Radicke) and Kate Radicke (Michael Cappiello); step-children from her current marriage, Jennifer Solimeo, Samantha Solimeo, Angelina Ritter, Melanie Walborn, Matthew Solimeo and Shannon Miller; her brother Charles Jurgensen and sister-in-law Wanda, nieces Amy, Alyce and Erica; grandchildren Amelia, Aster, Brady, Brandon, Charles, Dawson, Ellis, Evelyn, Frederick, Grayson, Madison, Miranda, Morgan, Myra, Rose, Vaughn, and Vincent; lifelong best friend Carol Bulkeley; and canine companion, Minnie.
Diane will continue smiling down upon everyone, as all of her family and friends reminisce and share their memories of her.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services.
A private event celebrating Diane's life will be held by the family at a later date.
