Mr. William A. "Bill" Austin, age 70 of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Accentcare Hospice in Christiana Care Wilmington Hospital.
He was born in Milford, Delaware, to the Trudie Aschauer and John W. Austin, Sr..
Bill worked as a residential painter and owned his own business, Austin's Custom Painting, for many years. He was a lifelong Delaware resident who enjoyed gardening, shooting pool, playing guitar, and listening to music, mostly the blues and anything by his favorite artist, Johnny Winter. Bill was also an avid comic book reader and collector. One of his greatest passions was fishing, especially with his son at their favorite local spot. He enjoyed occasional fishing trips with his son and friend to the Shenandoah River.
In addition to his late parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John W. Austin, Jr., and his special aunt and uncle, Garnett & Chauncey Messick, who helped raise him. Bill is survived by his son, Benjamin W. Austin; several nieces and nephews; his cat, Nesta; and his good friend, Frank Bolles.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Etta's Catering, located at 317 S. Rehoboth Blvd., Milford, DE.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made in memory of Bill to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
