Born in Manhattan, New York City, New York, he was the son of Adamina Santos and Luis Angel Batiz, Jr..
In his earlier years, he worked at a health store on Wall Street, NYC. Luis had attended Faithful Word Baptist Church when his health permitted.
Luis was avid listening of his favorite musical artists including Elvis and his two genres were "Oldies" and "Doo-Wop". a popular style of rhythm and blues during the 1950s and early 1960s. He enjoyed researching medicine and improvements in disease treatment. He and his wife, enjoyed watching movies, particularly science fiction like Star Trek. Luis was talented and skilled computer game player. Luis enjoyed his clowder " cat group" of his nine cats.
Luis is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Christina Challenger; and his sister,,Jacqueline (Jack-Jack) Batiz. Luis will be remembered by Joseph, Hilda, Jefferson, Yolanda and Veda Challenger. He will also be missed by his new friends, Juan and Mary.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services.
