Dolores M. Kozack

Dolores M. Kozack, nee Margalus, age 98, beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Linda (Jim) Reilly, Bob (Audrey), Judy (David) Kilinskis, and Wayne (Sue); cherished granny of Kim (Matt) Joseph, Kelly (Bob) Potrawski, Tracy (Andy) Weis, Brian (Andrea) and Tim Kozack, Mandy and Andy Kilinskis, Jessica (Alex) Long, and Dr. Caitlin Kozack; great-granny of Caleb, Becca, Jenna, Courtney, Carter, Ellie, Abby, Dominic, Maria, and Sophia; dear sister of the late Jerry (Ann) Margalus.

Dolores was born in, raised, and lived in Chicago for most of her life. At 45 years old she was widowed. While she never remarried, she devoted her life to her family and varied interests and hobbies. She loved dogs, reading, cake decorating, traveling, sewing, gardening, bowling, and most importantly, the Chicago Cubs. In her 70s she wrote a story about her relationship with the Cubs and it was published in a book called For Cub Fans Only - Volume 2.

Dolores worked at the company Visual Data, attaining the position of Vice President before retiring. She was active in many church and local organizations, holding multiple officer positions in those groups over the years. Singing in the St. Symphorosa Church's funeral choir brought her joy for many years. After her husband's passing, she bought a lake house in Michigan where she spent decades making memories with generations of family and friends. Granny enjoyed teaching her grandkids to swim and dive, pick blueberries, and how to make a snapdragon snap.

In 2018 she moved into Independent Living at Franciscan Village. Eventually she also lived in Assisted Living and Mother Theresa home. She was a good friend and neighbor-some of her friendships lasted 90 years! She is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral arrangements: Saturday 10:00 a.m. at Franciscan Village Chapel, 1260 Franciscan Drive, Lemont, Illinois where Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
