Dolores Ann "Dottie" Malitz

Dolores Ann "Dottie" Malitz, age 77, passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at her home in Shawano. Dottie was born on June 18, 1947, in Antigo to the late Willard and Germaine (Menting) Franzen. She graduated from Antigo High School. In her free time Dottie enjoyed playing sheepshead and trips to the casino. On February 20, 1966, she was united in marriage to David Malitz in Waukegan, Illinois. The couple spent a wonderful 41 years together before David's passing in 2007. Dottie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano.
Dottie is survived by her children, Tina (Bill) Couillard, James Malitz and Jesse (Shelly) Malitz; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Horzewski, Mel (Lori) Franzen, Don (Cherry) Franzen and Dave (Lynn) Franzen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dottie is preceded in death by her husband, David; granddaughter, Shannon; four sisters; one brother; and parents, Willard and Germaine.
A funeral service for Dottie will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday April 30, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Fr. Looney officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at the Town of Almon Cemetery.
