Dolores A. (Martin) Nutbrown, 90, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River, surrounded by her family.
Born in Tiverton, Dolores was a daughter of the late Frank Martin Jr. and Marion (Machado) Tavares. She lived a life filled with simple pleasures.
She loved dancing with her partner of 32 years, Donald P. Medeiros, who passed away on May 6, 2025
Dolores was employed as a sewing machine operator in the local textile industry and also worked as a CNA in nursing homes, where she found great joy in helping older people. A parishioner of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, in Swansea, she was a deeply religious woman who loved Jesus, praying, and attending church services.
In her younger years, she was an avid bowler who enjoyed the sport with her family. Dolores cherished family traditions, particularly playing card games, and had a passion for doing puzzles, crocheting, and knitting. She was known for making beautiful slippers and afghans for her loved ones. Her leisure activities included playing bingo, visiting the casino, ballroom dancing, and feeding the birds on her porch. She also loved cheering on the Patriots and the Red Sox. She enjoyed attending all the Neil Diamond concerts and listened to his music during her last days, singing, "so good, so good". An exceptional cook and baker, she delighted in entertaining and preparing meals for her family. She also loved spending time at the beach and quahogging. Above all, Dolores was remembered as a very loving mother who gave generously from her heart, and was a woman of many talents and interests.
She is survived by her children Steven Nutbrown, Cindy Nutbrown, Colleen Nutbrown, and Michael Nutbrown; her stepson, David Medeiros; her brother Richard Motta; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephew. She was predeceased by her son Ronald Nutbrown, Jr., her grandson Jesse N. Rose, and her siblings Frank Martin III, Lorraine Neves, and Joan Raposa. She was the former wife of Ronald Nutbrown.
