Dominique (Nique) Morini Herrmann AmsterdamDominique (Nique) Morini Herrmann, 26, passed away December 31, 2014 after a six month struggle with cancer. She spent her final weeks at her parents' home in Amsterdam NY, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on Easter Sunday, April 3rd, 1988, the daughter of Michael and Theresa (Centi) Morini. She graduated from Amsterdam High School in 2006 and shortly thereafter moved to Wilmington NC to be with her sister T.T. She graduated Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington NC with a degree in hotel and restaurant management. Nique lived in Wilmington for the past seven years while working in multiple local establishments. Nique was an advocate for animal welfare and had a passion for the arts. Dominique was married on September 13, 2014, to Michael Herrmann of Wilmington, NC at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam. Dominique is survived by her adoring husband, Michael Herrmann; her parents, Michael and Theresa Morini; her four sisters, Rosa, Giana, Gabrielle and Theresa (T.T) Morini. She also leaves behind her beloved maternal grandmother, Theresa Centi as well as many extremely close and loving aunts uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Gabriel Centi; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Mary Irene Morini. Calling hours will be on Friday, January 2 from 5 until 9 p.m. at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1414 State Highway 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010. The funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 3, at 11:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 39 Saint John St., Amsterdam, NY 12010.
