Don Bell, 87 of Wolfforth, Texas, died on February 28, 2025. He was born in Lubbock County on August 31, 1937 to Ford and Faye Bell. Don graduated from Lubbock Cooper High School and Texas Tech University.
In 1954, during his junior year in high school, Don began his calling as a cotton farmer and continued farming until 2020. He was a living example of Colossians 3:23. "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart." He married Betty Smith, his childhood sweetheart, on December 30, 1958.
Don loved Texas Tech University, always believing that championship season was in sight. He loved his Wolfforth community, serving as a director of American Bank of Commerce. He was an advocate for South Plains agriculture, serving as a director of Cotton Incorporated. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lubbock, and Wolfforth Caregivers, Inc.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Faye Bell, his sister, Nancy Bell McKinley. He is survived by his wife, Betty, his daughter, Donna, and her husband, Randy Fields of Midland, their sons, Sam Fields of Midland and Andrew and his wife, Lauren Fields of Albuquerque, NM. Also his daughter, Dana, and her husband, Ben Nolen of San Angelo, their sons, William Nolen of Cedar Park and Michael Nolen of Houston. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Bell of Lubbock.
Visitation will be held at Sanders Funeral Home of Lubbock, on March 5, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a private family burial.
The family wishes to thank Teri Richey and the staff of Raider Ranch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Wolfforth Caregivers, Inc. at P.O. Box 544, Wolfforth, Texas 79382.
