Don Fisher

Pastor Don L. Fisher, age 78, of Erie, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 14, 2025 following a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Denver, CO on July 18, 1947, son of the late Don H. Fisher and Leona Lindlay.
Don attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, where he received his ministerial training. Following that, he served in Germany with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Don returned to the States in December 1969 and married his wife, Barbara, on March 14, 1970. He first worked as a Nursing Home Administrator in Ft. Wayne, IN, and then started his ministry as a Youth Pastor in Ypsilanti, MI. In 1980, Don started his full-time pastoral ministry in Rockville, IN. He continued his pastorate at several other locations and then moved to Erie in 2004 to begin his pastoral ministry at Erie First Assembly of God. Don held many responsibilities at the church, his longest being with the senior ministries.
Don was an avid sports fan, participating in basketball and baseball. He umpired high school baseball and refereed high school basketball for over 20 years, as well as coached high school basketball for four years.
Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Fisher; two sons, Kirby Fisher (Joette) and Nathan Fisher (Ashlee); one sister, Tammy Lundgren (Tom); six grandchildren, Austin, Max, Ethan, Brody, Raylee and Kynlee; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Erie First Assembly of God, on Thursday, November 20th, from 11 am until the time of the Funeral Service there at 1 pm conducted by Pastor Nicole Schreiber and his brother-in-law, Pastor, Jack Risner. Full Military Honors rendered by the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571 will follow at interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
