A beloved figure in his community, passed away on October 4, 2025, at Corewell Health, Dearborn. Born on June 23, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, Don lived a life dedicated to service and passion.
A proud veteran, Don served in the United States Air Force, an experience that significantly shaped his character and instilled in him a deep pride for his Country. Following his Military Service, he pursued a career as a self-employed Private Investigator, where he dedicated himself to serving his clients with integrity and tenacity. He was a graduate of Fitzgerald High School in Warren, Michigan, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Madonna University, further highlighting his commitment to education and personal growth.
Beyond his professional life, Don was an enthusiastic sports fan. He had a particular love for the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and Detroit Lions, often sharing his insights and spirited commentary with family and friends. His profound love for golf provided him joy and camaraderie, allowing him to connect with others over shared experiences on the course.
Those who knew Don will remember his quick wit; he had a unique ability to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke, making everyone around him feel at ease. His warm personality built lasting friendships, including his close friend, Jacki Rogala, who, along with other loving family and friends, will miss him dearly.
Don leaves behind his son, Joseph Raczak, and his grandchildren: Kristen Raczak, Bradley Trojanowski, David Raczak, Connor Trojanowski, and Olivia Cutter. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, the late Trisha Raczak, his parents, Walter J. and Mary (Konop) Raczak, and his sister, Marian Raczak.
His legacy will continue through his family and the many lives he touched throughout his journey. Don will be remembered as a man of principle, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and country. Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital
