Donald Cook, 82, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 6, 2025, at Redstone Highlands after living with Parkinson's Disease for 12 years.
Born in Braddock, PA to Francis and Ethel Cook.

Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Newport News from 1962 to 1963 and four years in the Navy Reserves. His time in the service instilled in him a lifelong sense of discipline, loyalty, and commitment to others.

After returning home from the navy, Don began working at Turner's Dairy while attending the University of Pittsburgh at night. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and was employed by United States Steel for 30 years, as a Senior Purchasing Agent.

Don enjoyed woodworking, golf and gardening, and he loved the opportunity to travel and see new places. Whether spending time outdoors or sharing stories with loved ones, Don found joy in simple meaningful moments. His steady kindness, quick wit, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Tonie (Motta), his children Tracie (the late Bob) Stiffler, Shelly (Dan) Kloc, and Jeff (Michelle) Cook; his cherished grandchildren Ashley (Brian) Brinkley, Lauren (Clayton) Buckwalter, Matthew Stiffler, Jacob (Hope) Kloc, Dylan Cook and Savannah Cook; and his adored great-grandchildren Raegan, Roby and Blake. To them, he was lovingly known as Poppy. He is also survived by his sister Carol (the late Merle) Daw and nieces & nephews.

A man of quiet strength and kindness, Don was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Penn Hills.

His legacy of family, faith, love and service will live on through all who were blessed to know him.

At Don's request, the family will honor his life privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Light of Life Rescue Mission in Don's memory.
