Donald Gassert of Jerome passed away November 10, 2023. Don was born August 27, 1931 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Alexander and Emilia Gassert. He married Shirley Yoder and together they raised four children.

During his younger years, his focus was working hard and taking care of his family. Fishing, hunting, repairing and selling lawn mowers filled his retirement years. Another favorite pastime was attending the many auctions around the area. This is where he spent time with old friends and met new ones.

He is survived by his son, Clyde Gassert; son, Steven Gassert; daughter, Glenda Clark; and her daughters, Holly (Sam) Hunter and their son, Colin; Melissa (Rob) Hough and their son, Ryken; Kathleen (Steven) Thon and their children, Donald (Dee) Thon and Crystal Thon; and Melanie Taylor and her children, James Taylor and Courtney (Shane) Harrison and their daughters, Taylor (Kyle) and Peyton.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome.
