Donald Reifert Obituary

He was born November 26, 1947 in Detroit, son of the late Herbert and Shirley (Wagner) Reifert. Don married Carolyn E. Johnston on September 9, 1972 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death March 31, 2011.
Don was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was Director of Maintenance and Transportation at C-PS for 30 years. Don was a member of the Cros-Lex Eagles Aerie #4465, and the Croswell American Legion Post #255. Don loved anything that had to do with the outdoors. He greatly cherished fishing with his father, golf with his brothers, and hunting with his son and close family friends. After his retirement from CPS, Don greatly valued the relationships he built with both parents and students.
He is survived by his son, Don, Jr. (Rebecca) of Croswell; daughter, Jennifer (Christopher) Carlo of Richmond; 8 grandchildren, Kilee, Austin, Paige, Angelina, Michael, Alaina, Haile, and Aillianna; brother, Timothy (Lisa) of Lexington; and 2 sisters, Penny (Terry) Maskell of Croswell, and Terry (Frank) Rhody of Port Sanilac.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, October 17 at Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Rev. Christopher Jung will officiate. Military Rites by the Croswell American Legion Post #255.
Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Thursday, and 10-11 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
