Donald Ray Stewart
1936-2024
If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever. -A.A. MILNE
Donald Ray Stewart, age 88, of Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be reunited with his loving wife (Donna) on June 25, 2024, while resting at Woodland Oaks.
Donald was born in the fleeting days of Spring on April 27th, 1936. He was the blessing of the late Kline and Audrey Bolt Stewart. He graduated from Boyd County High School and was a retired machinist from Owens Illinois. Donald was a gentle loving man who enjoyed spending quiet days with his wife. They did everything together for 59 years before her passing in 2022. He valued the importance of family. Donald, just like most from Kentucky, was an avid UK Fan. He also loved to root for the New York Yankees. Donald had a big heart and was loved by everyone. He leaves behind a void that may only be filled by the love and memories he left behind.
Donald leaves behind his devoted stepmother Doris Lemaster Stewart, two brothers, John Tackett and his wife Toni and Fred Stewart and his wife Donna, and two sisters Sherry Stewart Otta and her husband James, and Kathy Stewart Mays and her husband Doug. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, including a special nephew Tim Stewart, who was a devoted caretaker from both Donald and Donna, many cousins, extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Donald is enjoying a Heavenly reunion with his devoted wife Donna Burke Stewart, and one brother Gary Stewart.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Ross Cemetery located in Rush, KY, beginning at 12pm with Brother Buddy Baker officiating. Visitati
on for friends and family will be held prior to the service at Neal Funeral Home located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, KY from 10:30am to 11:30am.
