Donna Louise Morgan arrived in Heaven on the morning of February 23rd, 2025. She fought well and valiantly to stay here with her loved ones for a very long time, but knew when her battle was over. She leaves behind a group of family and friends infinitely grateful for her presence in their lives, and equally grateful for her current and now eternal presence with her Lord and Savior.
Born in Denver in 1953, and growing up "in town" in East Helena and Helena before graduating as a Helena High Bengal in 1971, and later from Eastern Montana College in Billings in 1975, Donna never dreamed that she would ultimately become a working wife on a 4th generation Montana family ranch. She embraced this unexpected lifestyle, however, and found much of her passion and joy in the outdoors, soaking up God's Creation. Caring for her flock of sheep, gardening, hunting first with her husband and later children and their families, fishing with family and friends, cross-country skiing, enjoying time boating both on lakes with family and rafting with her sister Velma and her crew, and simply soaking in long walks through their pastures with a menagerie of pets trailing behind her, Donna never failed to note the beauty around her. When she was not outside enjoying that splendor, she often put pencil, watercolor, or oil paints to canvas in order to recreate the wonder of creation that she so loved. Donna was also enthusiastically involved in multiple local charitable organizations and groups over the years; The Extension Homemakers, Gallatin Cattlewomen, Rodeo Bible Camp, Gallatin County 4H, and the Love Inc Clothes Closet, to name just a few. The Dry Creek Bible Church Family was a big part of her life, from VBS when her kids were young, to decades of life groups and ladies activities. Donna valued family above all, and took great pleasure in spending time with them, raising her children, and enjoying her grandchildren in her role as Nonna.
Donna is preceded in death by both her parents, her son Clinton Morgan, grandson Thane Morgan, and both her siblings Velma and Michael McMeekin. She is survived by her husband Darrell (known to most as Steve), children Zade (Annabel) Morgan and Abigail (Wade) Schock, grandchildren Piper and Maeme Morgan, and Wyatt, Walker, and Winston Schock, along with many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
Join us to celebrate Donna's life at 11 am on March 15th at the Dry Creek Bible Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by check to Rodeo Bible Camp through:
