Donnie Dudding Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Groves-Mann Funeral Home, Inc. - Union on Apr. 29, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donnie Dudding on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Donnie's absence leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Donnie was a man deeply respected and cherished by his community and beyond. A proud veteran who served during the Vietnam era, he went on to build a successful career as an electrician, using his talents to uplift and support everyone around him. His gift for music - playing any instrument by ear without ever reading a note - was a significant source of joy, and the melodies he shared will continue to echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
Above all, Donnie was the embodiment of loyalty and selflessness - a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was always the one offering a helping hand, yet never one to ask for anything in return.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Margaret and Joe Dudding, brother, Ervin Dudding and wife Reba, sister in-law, Sue Dudding, brother in-laws, Donnie Drummond and Norman Harris, and nephew, Duane McPeak.
He is survived by his eight beloved siblings - Una Lake Drummond, Mary Francis Harris, Rachel Elmore (and husband Howard), Edith McPeak (and husband Charles), Debbie Carter (and husband John B), Clara Sowers (and husband Wayne), Joe Clinton Dudding, and James Dudding (and wife Betty) - along with his honorary brother, Carl Cobb, and two incredible friends, Barry Eppling and Eric McDaniel.
Donnie's greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his daughter, Heather Pedigo, her husband Charlie, and their four children - Maddox, Nala, Charlotte, and Chance - who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.
He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews: Missy Ring, Stephanie Byers, Jeff Drummond, Donna Degroat, Rodney and Brian Bell, Leigh Kaiser, Michelle Deel, Joey Dudding, Cara Sowers Cole, Billy, Greg and Gary Dudding, Sandy Gautier, Mike Collins, Pammie and Ricky Dudding.
A memorial service and celebration of Donnie's life will be announced at a later date. We invite all who knew and loved Donnie to join us in honoring the extraordinary life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Donnie's memory to the Waiteville Cemetery Fund, c/o Jean Rock, 6306 Waiteville Road, Waiteville, WV 24984. Your generosity in honoring Donnie's life is deeply appreciated.
